L.E.S Girl

If you follow me on Instagram, you all should know by now that I live in the Lower East Side and I just l-o-v-e the neighborhood! Even though our rent is through the roof and we're living in a shoebox, the convenience and neighborhood is worth it!

What use to be known as the slums/ghetto of the city is now one of Manhattan's most fashionable and lively neighborhoods! There’s never a dull moment in the L.E.S. The neighborhood is filled with lots of diversity, restaurants (Meatball Shop, Clinton Street Bakery, Pig & Khao, Champion Pizza), bars (Hair of the Dog, Pianos, bOb bar, Spitzers), cafes, boutiques and small galleries (too many to name). During the summer time, you can catch small concerts between some of the smaller streets or even in the back of the stores (i.e Alife and Community 54). What I love most about the L.E.S is the street art that surrounds the community. Almost every empty wall is filled with some type of artistic expression whether it’s graffiti or woven “3D” art on metal gates. Plus, it creates perfect backdrops for my pictures :).

So, if you're ever in town, be sure to visit one of the best neighborhoods in New York City!
