Sorry for being absent!! I finally took a much needed break from New York, my blog, DJing (or trying to DJ), and my job to take vacation — and Coachella doesn't count. I didn't want to go to Miami (been there, done that) nor go back home (sorry mom and dad) but I wanted to explore a new culture and immerse myself in a foreign country. So, I decided to travel half way across the world to two of the most beautiful and extraordinary places on earth, Abu Dhabi and Dubai!!
I know a lot of people have a negative perception of the two cities, but it's definitely not what you'd imagine it to be. The cities are very clean, welcoming, modern, and safe. This doesn't mean it's OK to walk seamlessly out at night with your wallet in your back pocket. As long as you respect the culture and consciously make smart decisions, you'll be fine and have the best experience of your life.

Abu Dhabi: The capital of The United Arab Emirates, Abu Dhabi's culture is firmly rooted in Islamic traditions, creating a shining example of Islam's true commitment to tolerance and hospitality. The combination of international influences and a strong commitment to local heritage has created an intriguing mix of new and old. Abu Dhabi may not have the glitz and glam of Dubai, but it's more authentic, meaning you can really immerse yourself in the Arabic culture.
Sheikh Zayed Mosque
Dubai: Known for luxury shopping, ultramodern architecture, and over-the-top nightlife, Dubai is a sophisticated city that's all about thinking big. The city has the world's biggest mall (which includes a faux snow mountain), world's tallest tower (Burj Khalifa), and one of the most ambitious real estate developments, Palm Jumerirah, an artificial archipelago shaped like a palm tree. So picture Miami on crack. If you want experience more of the culture, visit old Dubai. Old Dubai offers a list of things to do, from bargaining for textiles and gold to eating authentic food. Unfortunately, I didn't take a lot of pictures in old Dubai. I was too occupied trying to buy gold LOL.
Maa Salama Abu Dhabi and Dubai! Till we meet again!!
